Agility class in the Twin Cities

Agility Run For Fun

MWCR alum Gunnar, relaxing after his agility class. His owners say he has become more focused since coming to class.

On Saturday April 14th Agile Canines in St. Louis Park, Minn., will start another 4 week Level 1 – Intro to Agility Run For Fun!

This is the class for those who do not want to compete in agility but want to do it just for fun. Contacts and jumps are always low. Teeter is never done.

If anyone is interested in this class please email Annelise Allen privately. Please share with any friends or neighbors who may be interested!

One of the instructors, Judy Roggow, is a MWCR member.

Minnesota Collie Frolic

June 24 at Stone Mountain Pet Lodge, Blaine, Minn.

Thanks to everyone who attended Sunday’s MWCR Collie Frolic in Blaine, Minn. People and dogs had a great time, with the dogs playing in both the indoor and the outdoor play areas and people mingling in the play areas and in the dining area. Congratulations to the raffle winners and to the furries who won prizes in the Longest Schnoz contest. It was good to see familiar faces as well as to see so many new faces. We’re a good group of caring dog lovers. Also seeing our adopted collies so happy with their families is very rewarding. Thank you to all who brought a dish to share and who donated items for the prize drawings. Thank you to Spirit Graphics, Gray Gables Farm, and Alan Michael for making your wonderful products and services available to those who attended, to Brenda Pulkrabek for the fabulous pictures. And, thank you to our Events/Fundraising Committee who spent many hours planning and working at the event.

May photos

Sherman was one of nine therapy dogs who volunteered at Grainger Hall on the UW-Madison campus May 7, to support students who are taking finals and finishing up their work for the semester. Sherman’s dear dog friend Roxy is right behind him in this photo.

MWCR alum Luigi passed his pet therapy evaluation and can start visits. What a good boy!

Pupdate on handsome Eros (now Mickey) who was adopted in March:
Mickey is growing a lot. His last vet visit a couple of weeks ago, he weighed 30 lbs. His favorite activities lately are chasing birds/squirrels in the yard, and unrolling paper towels and toilet paper from the rolls.

Parker and Maybel helping with yard clean-up.

Update on handsome Laddie, who is doing well: One of my daughters was visiting this week. She loves Laddie! We agreed that although we’ve liked all our family dogs, we think Laddie is the friendliest. He and my daughter bonded right away. Attached is a photo of him in a blissful mood while lying next to my daughter.

Pupdate on Eros: Eros has been great this week. He is a big eater, likes his sleep, and is full of energy which we love. We have decided to name him “Mickey” after Mickey Mouse. Thank you for everything. We are very lucky to have Mickey join our family. – Brian and Mickey (Eros).
