MWCR participated in five community events in September. We had a booth at the Responsible Dog Ownership Day held at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Lake Elmo, Minn. Laddie Luke Gibson passed his Therapy Dog International test at this event and is now a therapy dog. Laddie and his sister Emily had fun testing doggie exercise equipment at the event. Morgan and his dad also stopped by the booth in the afternoon. Thank you, Tim Bush, for staffing the booth and packing up the booth.
The next day, collies and their families gathered at the home of Dale and Diane Liebert for the Madison Collie Frolic. The dogs frolicked in the large yard while their people visited, enjoyed food, and shopped for MWCR items made by Spirit Graphics. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful afternoon. Thank you, Diane and Dale, for graciously sharing your home with us.
The northern suburbs of the Twin Cities hosted two dog events. Bark Park was held in Brooklyn Park. Rodgers, with his mom Chris Norman, staffed our booth and greeted many visitors, including a family with three collies. A little girl who stopped by our booth to spin the prize wheel was very surprised when her first tooth suddenly fell out. The Love My Pet Fest was held the following Saturday in Coon Rapids. A large crowd attended even though the weather was unseasonably hot and humid.
Southern Minnesota was the site of the Dogs and More event hosted by BACB Unleashed and the Rescued Animals Coalition of SE MN at the History Center of Olmsted County in Rochester. The beautiful location provided rescues and attendees with the opportunity to visit and learn more about available animals.
