The Minnesota Wisconsin Collie Rescue’s Annual Dinner Meeting and Fundraiser is fast approaching. The event will be held on Saturday, November 5, from 3-6 p.m. at the Wayzata American Legion located at 949 Wayzata Blvd. E. in Wayzata, Minn.
This year’s guest speaker is KC Willis, founder and president of LightShine Canine which rescues over 200 dogs a month from the Pine Ridge and Rosebud Reservations in South Dakota and transfers the dogs to affiliated rescues such as MWCR. KC is a dynamic and powerful speaker whose presentations are moving. We will have a supply drive at the dinner to help KC. So, please bring extra stainless steel dog dishes, leashes and collars of all sizes, towels, blankets, kennel pads, dog training pads, and Frontline as well as any cash donations you’d like to make to help LightShine with their veterinary bills. We are offering a reduced charge of $20 for the dinner to anyone who either brings a dessert to share or makes a monetary or supply donation to LightShine Canine.
Once again we’ll have a hearty lasagna dinner with meat and vegetarian options, caesar salad, and breadsticks along with a variety of desserts. Kitty Hilk will have her popular Gray Gables Farm products including her famous dog treats, jams, and bath products for sale, If you’d like to order anything in advance, please contact Kitty at firstname.lastname@example.org. New this year is MWCR member Yogi Tadisch of Spirit Graphics whio will have a variety of MWCR merchandise for sale including MWCR tee-shirts, caps, mugs etc. Check out the beautiful work he and Joan do with tiles. Both Kitty and Yogi generously donate the proceeds from their sales to MWCR. And, of course, we’ll have our large silent auction to raise funds for the care of MWCR’s foster collies as well as a FREE table with items for people to drop off and take..
So, please come for a fun evening with fellow dog lovers, a great speaker, a delicious meal, a chance to get a start on your holiday gift buying, and door prizes and free gifts for all who attend. Registration is available at www.mwcr.org or by emailing Terry at email@example.com or by calling 952-432-0200. Reservations made by October 24 will ensure you a spot and will help with meal planning.
Hope to see you on Saturday, November 5!
