In addition to the wonderful Collie Frolic in Milwaukee, MWCR participated in two dog events in April.
The Dog Olympics was held on April 9 at the AgStar Arena at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St. Paul. The annual event is organized by the veterinary students at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine to raise funds for the St. Paul K-9 unit, to highlight various programs within the Veterinary College, and to spotlight rescues such as MWCR. MWCR members Doug Jurcich and Robin Kashuba with gorgeous and gregarious Harley greeted the crowds.
Harley made sure that no one missed our table!
Kitty and Arnie Hilk with Tristan, Jackson, and Sammi staffed our table at the Dog Day at the Arboretum held on April 23 at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum located on the Chanhassen/Chaska border in Minnesota. Dog Day is one of the few days when dogs are allowed to walk through the miles of paths within the beautiful Arboretum. The Arboretum staff held prize drawings and provided free professional photographs of dogs and their families. As usual, Tristan, Jackson, and Sammi charmed the crowd. No one can resist a smiling, fluffy collie!
