Almost adoption:

When MWCR Intake coordinator, Marian, responded to a Facebook post about a smoothie girl looking for a new home, the plan was to bring her into foster and find her a forever family but the owner wasn’t interested in working with rescue. Serendipitously, we had a previous adopter looking for a smooth collie girl to join their lives. So, since the most important thing is finding a collie a good home, we were able to play matchmaker and put these two in contact with each other. Now this lovely girl, Amelia, has a great new life, a loving mom and dad and an exciting job as co-pilot. We’re calling this one an MWCR-by-proxy success story :-).

Millie

Millie

Millie (fka Bliss), an 8-month-old sable/white girl, has been adopted and will be living in Illinois. Millie was surrendered to MWCR and will now be sharing her life with a big sister collie, some kitties and a bunny. She also gets a new mom and dad and two little human sisters who I’m told enjoy playing dress up. Sounds like great fun and I’m sure Millie will look fabulous in a tiara!

Princess

Princess

Our beautiful Princess, a 4-year-old sable/white female, has been adopted and will be living in Minnesota. This lovely girl was sadly surrendered to MWCR by her previous family and now has another kingdom to rule with a nice, quiet fenced yard. She will be sharing it with her new mom and dad and a built-in loyal subject in the form of a big brother collie. Congratulations sweet girl, long may you reign!

Smokie

Smokie, a 3-year-old merle-headed white collie (or collie mix), has been adopted and will be living in Minnesota. This poor boy spent quite a bit of time fending for himself near a campground before he was picked up by the local animal control. I’m sure it must have been a very frightening time for him and he even has some wounds that may have been caused by buckshot :-(. When efforts to find his family failed, the shelter contacted MWCR since he was fearful and uncertain in a kennel environment. They felt he would be happier in a foster-based program and, boy, were they right! It wasn’t long before he was snuggling with (and sometimes on top of), his foster mom while covering her face with kisses ;-). Smokie is continuing his loving ways with his new mom & dad and even the resident kitties think he’s pretty okay. Congratulations on your new life, sweet boy!
