By Terry Libro, MWCR President
Ann Olson, founder and executive director of Animal Folks Minnesota (www.animalfolksmn.org) will be the featured speaker at MWCR’s Annual Dinner Meeting and Fundraiser on Saturday, November 7, from 3 – 6 p.m., at the Wayzata American Legion in Wayzata, Minn.
Several of us heard Ann speak earlier this year on animal welfare legislation and several MWCR members have worked with Ann over the years. Ann will cover the progress that has been made on ensuring the proper care and safety of animals in large breeding kennels in a thoughtful presentation without a lot of “hard to look at” pictures. Wisconsin’s law focusing on animal sellers has been in effect for several years and Minnesota’s new law focusing on animal breeders went into effect on July 1 of this year, so we’re excited that Ann can speak on this timely topic.
Our Dinner will include a lasagna dinner, silent auction, Gray Gables products, time to socialize, updates, and door prizes. Watch for registration information in the coming weeks. We look forward to seeing you in November!
