March adoptions

By Sarah Rebernick, Adoption Coordinator

Handsome Derby, a 2-year-old tricolor male, has been adopted and will be living in Minnesota. This sweet boy was surrendered to MWCR from life as an outdoor dog. He quickly adjusted to indoor living and his happy, radiant personality came out. Derby loves playing with squeaky toys and snuggling and he will have plenty of opportunity for both in his new home. He will be sharing his new life with a big brother collie, a kitty playmate and two human sisters who are ready to shower him with love.

Three-year-old Serenity, a mahogany sable/white female, has been adopted. Serenity was a farm collie who came into rescue due to her owner’s health issues. Her new home has kitties for her to take care of and a mom and three sisters to take care of her. She has already chosen her nighttime spot beside mom’s bed and in the morning she lies in the hallway to keep track of everyone’s activities. They said she is just what they needed and wanted and they hope they are just what she needs as well.

Three-year-old tricolor girl, Olive, has been adopted and will be living in Minnesota. She is a sweet, happy girl who needs to take off a few pounds before bikini season (hey, who doesn’t?!), because of her loving relationship with her food dish. This cuddle bug, who was surrendered due to a family illness, loves attention and brushing and her new home has a big sister setter who will be happy to help her with her new exercise routine. Her new mom and dad report that everyone is getting along well and that she is about the mellowest pooch ever. Congratulations!

Pretty collie mix, 6-month-old Amarilla, has been adopted and will be living in Wisconsin.  Rilla was an owner surrender who will now be enjoying the sweet life of an only pup with her new doting mom and dad. They have been waiting quite a while to welcome their new family member and report that she is a precious little love. She also has quite the spunky side and has decided the motorcycle across the street is her sworn enemy. Enjoy your new life Rilla and have fun keeping mom and dad on their toes!

Handsome Kessler (fka Koda), 1.5-year-old sable merle collie, has been adopted and will be living in Iowa. Kessler was struggling in the shelter environment and MWCR brought him into foster. Maybe it’s those gorgeous blue eyes, but when his new mom picked him up from the shelter it didn’t take long for them to realize it was true love. So now Kessler has found his forever family and they couldn’t be happier – truly a match made in heaven.

  1. Great work MWCR! I am still forever grateful for my great companion Hobie. I am still very willing to do transportation or home visits for you or even very temporary foster care. (I have a frail 11 year old ) I would be happy to help however I can. Lori
