Wonderful adoption news! Tori, our beautiful sable/white senior smoothie, has been adopted and will be living in Minnesota. Tori started her life as a ‘breeder’ producing litter after litter and living outdoors. She was rescued and learned about the wonderful world of being a companion but then her mom had to move and Tori came into foster at MWCR. Although her foster mom loved her very much, I know Tori must be pretty excited to have her very own family again. Her new mom said that they were drawn to Tori because of her ‘mature’ age – what a lovely phrase! Congratulations Tori!
Now we’ve had some fast foster failures in the past but I think this one may be the winner, as long as you don’t count the transport flunkie from last year. Pretty 2-year-old tricolor, Spring, was in her foster home for less than three hours when they knew it was meant to be and let us know she had found her forever home. This petite lady came into rescue after she was surrendered to a vet clinic and she is definitely going to have a great life from here on out. So congratulations to Spring and our latest foster flunkies!
Big handsome Ollie has been adopted and will be living in Wisconson. Ollie originally came to MWCR with a serious secondary skin infection from his allergies. He’s been treated in his foster home for about a month and they thought they would be working on it for quite a bit longer but by a happy coincidence he has found a great forever home. Ollie went with his foster mom to do a home visit and not only did the family fall in love with him but they have experience with allergies and skin issues and are willing to tackle what could possibly be a lifelong issue. Seems like a perfect match for a perfectly awesome boy and he’ll even get some kitty siblings to play with – congratulations Ollie!
Joey, a big cuddly 5-year-old sable/white boy, has been adopted and will be living in Minnesota. He was originally taken in after spending his early life as an outdoor dog but that family was unable to keep him and surrendered him to MWCR. Joey tipped the scales at over 100 lbs. when he came in. Now at 94 lbs., he’s looking pretty good although he is still working on losing a little weight – but hey, who isn’t. This easygoing, mellow boy is going to love his new home with mom, dad and two little humans to love. There are even some kitties to pal around with and his foster home is happy that he’ll be nearby for visits. Have a wonderful life, Joey!
Cody, a 2.5-year-old sable/white male, has been adopted and will be living in Wisconsin. Cody was surrendered to a local shelter when his mom lost her home. Now he will be enjoying all the attention that comes with being an ‘only’ collie but he will have to share some of the spotlight with his new grandparents two collies. Congratulations on your new home, Cody!
Nesta, a 3-year-old mahogany sable/white collie/sheltie, has been adopted and will be living in Illinois. Nesta was surrendered to MWCR when his mom could no longer care for him. He is quite a little heartbreaker and his new family fell in love at first sight. I know he’s going to be very happy getting all of their love and attention but I hope he’ll remember his roots and always be a Packer fan!
Andy, a 7-month old sable/white, collie-sheltie mix came to us from Minnesota Sheltie Rescue since his size and looks were more collie than sheltie. Andy is a playful somewhat shy boy who was an outdoor dog until coming into rescue. In his foster home he learned all about how wonderful indoor life is and quickly picked up the manners needed to stay there. His new home has other collies as well as two-legged siblings to play with and show him how great life can be – they even made him a Welcome sign. Happy new home, Andy!
Well I’m sure you all know about Bender by now . . . He is a 9-month-old sable/white smoothie mix (my bet is on Collie/Great Dane – those legs are crazy long!) who came to us from Kenosha Forgotten Friends rescue. Bender went along to the Collie Frolic in Minnesota and had a wonderful time. When a pre-approved adopter who recently lost their smoothies came to meet him, there was no doubt that it was going to be a good fit. Now he is in his forever home with two little humans, a mom and dad who are able to take him to work with them and a lovely fenced yard to cavort in. Pretty sweet deal, Bender!
Lassie, a 7-year-old sable/white female, has been adopted and will be living in North Dakota. Lassie was an owner surrender who has spent her whole life as an outdoor dog. She is very afraid of storms so I’m sure she’s happy to be indoors now, especially with the weather we’ve had lately. Lassie’s new mom and dad have had lots of collies over the years and since their last MWCR alum passed they and Lassie’s new Aussie brother have been very lonely. It looks like she’s fitting right in and making everyone feel better. But what else would you expect from Lassie.
Buster, a 10-year-old male tricolor, has been adopted and will be living in Wisconsin. Buster was surrendered to MWCR when his family broke up and the people he was left with could no longer care for him. Luckily for Buster it didn’t take long for his foster home to fall in love and realize that he had found him new home right there with them.
Max and Sparky, 5-year-old sable/white males, have been adopted and will be living in Wisconsin. They were surrendered to MWCR when their owner had to move to care for an elderly relative and we’re so glad that this bonded pair will be able to stay together in their new home. Their new mom and dad have cared for lots of senior and special needs dogs and I know Max and Sparky are in good hands.
