MWCR has been busy the last few weeks participating in dog events, including two events on May 31.
MWCR had a booth at the first Pause 4 Paws Adoption Event held at the BMW of Minnetonka dealership. Eighteen rescues participated in the event held on the grounds of the dealership where visitors learned about the rescues and met pets available for adoption. Robin Kashuba brought MWCR foster Prince Colby and her deaf sheltie Skyler. Arnie Hilk attended with MWCR adoptee Tristan and Mary Ann Statz came with collie-wannabee Cindy. All of the dogs, and the people, were great ambassadors for MWCR. Adding to the festive atmosphere of this event were a face painter, fresh grilled food, fresh ice cream, cotton candy, popcorn, and a balloon artist.
The annual Paws on Parade was held in Hutchinson, Minn. on May 31. Robin Kashuba, Brenda Pulkrabek, and Kitty and Arnie Hilk staffed MWCR’s table at this indoor event. Robin also served as the “caller” for a doggie square dance demonstration. Also on May 31, the Canine Carnival was held outdoors at the Wildlife Science Center in Forest Lake, Minn. Once again, heavy rain resulted in the event ending early. However, before the rain fell, Andi Wulff and MWCR adoptee Leo participated in a herding demonstration involving ducks. Chris Norman with foster Cody, Mary Ann Statz with Cindy, and Doug Jurcich staffed our booth.
