December Adoptions

LoganLogan is a 4-year-old rough blue merle male who was surrendered to MWCR because of a divorce. Although he was obviously very loved, his old family was no longer able to give him the care that he needed. He is very happy to be an only collie in his new home although he will be enjoying the company of four feline siblings. As an added bonus, someone is almost always home in order to give him all the attention he deserves. Pretty sweet deal.

PhineasPhineas is a 2-year-old sable/white male who will be living in Wisconsin with his new family and a 3-year-old golden lab playmate. Phineas was surrendered to MWCR because his family didn’t have time for him and because he grew much larger than they had expected. But this big beautiful boy was exactly what his new family was looking for to help fill the void left by the passing of their previous big, beautiful collie boy. I hear he’s already settling in nicely and as his foster mom said – got to love a happy ending!

ChewbaccaChewbacca has been adopted and will be living in Minnesota. Chewy is a 5-6 year old sable/white collie mix who spent the first part of his life on a farm where he lived outdoors and learned to get along with many different animals including, dogs, cats, sheep, goats, and horses. His old family knew he wasn’t getting the attention he needed so they surrendered him to MWCR. In his new home Chewy will be enjoying the comforts of indoor living and get to share his love with the resident kitties.

Bullet and TobyBullet, 2-year-old collie mix, and Toby, 2-year-old sable/white male, went together to their new permanent home in Wisconsin. Both were abandoned when their families moved, Bullet left tied up in his backyard and Toby left in the home when his family moved out. Bullet was rescued by a concerned neighbor and he had even more bad luck when another neighbor shot at him. He had two gun shot wounds, one in the hip and one at the base of the tail. His rescuer took him to the vet to have the wounds treated and once he was healed he went to the local humane society, who asked MWCR to take him. Toby came into rescue after his family had to move and could not take him with them. He was left alone in an empty house and a good samaritan contacted us about his situation. Toby was actually adopted out earlier this year but it soon became apparent that he needed another dog around in order to be happy. When Bullet and Toby met it was obvious they were meant to be together and now these two orphans are very loving brothers with a special bond.

PearlyFriday the 13th turned out to be a pretty lucky day for some MWCR collies! Pearly, 1-year-old sable/white female, has been adopted and will be living in Wisconsin. She was surrendered when her owner moved back home to his parents’ farm and Pearly wanted to herd the horses, which they did not appreciate at all. Her new home will have plenty of room to play and a young collie sibling to cavort with so I’m pretty sure she won’t miss the horses at all. Congratulations Pearly!

KallieSweet Kalli is starting her new life with her new family in Minnesota. Kalli is a 2-3 year old tricolor who was found alone along a country road in Missouri, very skinny with matted hair and covered in fleas. She was taken in by a Missouri rescue group and when they were unable to find a suitable home for her they transferred Kalli to MWCR. In her new home she has a big brother collie to play with and someone is almost always around to give her the love and attention she deserves. Sounds like her rough journey has a pretty nice ending!
